How to Use Pinterest to Plan Your Wedding Celebrations (And Why We Love It)
We love Pinterest for weddings. In fact, we love it so much that last fall we ran a Pin It to Win It contest, encouraging entrants to pin pictures of their favorite wedding planning tips and ideas. Over 40 Boston brides participated for the chance to win a $5,000 catered wedding rehearsal dinner, and last weekend, our winning bride and groom enjoyed theirs.
The wedding rehearsal dinner was exceptionally beautiful, with a shabby chic theme set in a historic barn in Topsfield, MA. After months of planning via Pinterest, our team was able to seamlessly transform the location into a rustic dinner experience that the couple and the BG team designed together.
Christina, the bride, chose country elements for her furniture and décor. She selected big, beautiful rural tables, dressed them with birch logs filled with baby’s breath and lit them by hanging rows of café lights for an added sparkle. The entire space came together with a flawless countryside charm.
Our wedding planner, Nicole, worked directly with Christina and Jim, the groom, to create a custom menu tailored specifically to their favorite foods, with special twists that they all thought the event guests would love. The entire dinner was a huge success, from the first pin on Pinterest all the way through to the final speech and last bite of dessert. Our bride and groom couldn’t have been happier with the experience.
Wedding rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, engagement parties, bridal showers…they’re all such special occasions in a couple’s history together, and those events require a lot of preparing and planning to make sure each goes exactly as the bride and groom want it to. And, for most couples, it’s the first (and last!) time they get to plan such a special time in their lives, so they want everything to be precise and exactly how they’ve always envisioned it.
In an age where the celebration possibilities are truly endless, planning and making decisions can be difficult for a couple. Where should we hold our various celebrations? How much food should we order/make? Do we select a theme? How can we create centerpieces? Lighting? Bar services? Menus?
The questions are non-stop. When you have a tool that not only helps you organize your visions but also communicates your visions with your event planning and catering team(s), then the entire process becomes so much easier!
Pinterest is a wonderful—and free!—wedding planning tool, and one that we frequently use to communicate ideas to our wedding couples and vice versa. Brides can show us examples of what they want to include in their wedding celebrations, and we can share our execution ideas with them as well.
Our designers are able to post photos and ideas that match up with each of the brides’. Pinterest is a great tool to collect ideas, share those ideas and, ultimately, plan the wedding of your dreams.
